San Francisco

San Francisco, the "City by the Bay", is only fourty-nine square miles yet is made up of many vastly different neighborhoods and terrain. Wheelchair riders can readily visit all the San Francisco landmarks including the Golden Gate Bridge, Fisherman’s Wharf, Alcatraz, Golden Gate Park, Union Square, North Beach, and even parts of hilly Chinatown and Coit Tower. To avoid steep hills purchase a San Francisco bike map to plan your accessible route. Parking is extremely difficult and can be quite expensive to park at your hotel; therefore, if possible it's advisable to use the many accessible public transit options. Most streets have curb cuts and ramped taxis are available for hire.
