Monte Rio Beach is a small, rocky public beach on the lower Russian River. The lower beach parking lot is open during the summer season only (mid-May through mid-September) and closes at 8 pm. The beach itself and the upper parking lot remain open for the public’s enjoyment year-round; there is accessible parking at the upper lot but to reach the beach you must travel a short distance down a steep road. A wood path provides wheelchair access from the lower parking area to the concession stands, a picnic table, and the beach. One can rent a canoe, paddle board or kayak.
