Inn town Campground, built in 2016, sits on 15-acres just 2 miles from downtown Nevada City. It has that inviting new, clean vibe to it and many amenities to provide a glamping (glamorous camping) experience. Add to that that the owners are committed to creating an inclusive vacation site for all including giving attention to accessibility. There are a variety of accessible sleeping options including a deluxe tent cabin (reviewed here), tent site to pitch your own tent, and RV site with hookups. All are held for patrons needing access until the campground is fully booked, then they are released to the general public. The accessible sites all have easy access to the communal building--the hub of activity where you’ll find the camp store, reading nooks, laundry, game tables, TV. A spacious communal kitchen is equipped with a refigerator, pantry space, cookware, silverware, plates, bowls, and more. Campground hosts hold sing-alongs, stories and show movies that are family friendly. All of bathrooms and shower areas (there are many) are wheelchair accessible with at least four that have roll-in showers.

Indoor Accessibility

Unit Reviewed:

The deluxe tent cabin is spacious, nicely decorated, and comfortably outfitted with electricity, heated mattress pad, a fan, and fresh linens on a comfy mattress. There is plenty of room for two wheelchair users to navigate inside and out where you’ll find a covered patio and uncovered picnic table. The only lighting provided is two lamps that are attached to either side of the headboard of the bed and controlled by a twisting switch on the top of the fixture which could be problematic for those with limited hand function. There's an upright fan for cooling.

While the tent cabin is conveniently located close to the communal building, some may find that it lacks the same camping “vibe” as the rest of the camp sites which are set back further in the woods. The positive advantage to the accessible tent cabin and campsite site location is that there are no other cabins directly next to them thereby affording more privacy, unlike the other tent cabins which are close to each other. As long as you're happy choosing comfort and amenities over that more isolated experience, this place is terrific.
